Oradour-sur-Glane is a village located in the Limousin region of central France. It was the site of a tragic massacre during World War II, carried out by the German SS troops on June 10, 1944.

The village was a peaceful rural community with a population of around 650 people at the time. However, on that fateful day, a detachment of the Waffen-SS, led by SS-Sturmbannführer Adolf Diekmann, entered the village and committed unspeakable atrocities. The SS troops rounded up the villagers, separated men from women and children, and proceeded to massacre them.
